Entertainment Giant, Studio 100, Partners with Venly and SiteManager to Launch NFT Membership
Samson, Vic the Viking, Vegesaurs, Maya the Bee - some of these titles might ring a bell from your childhood. While the storylines are worlds apart, they all have one common thread - Studio 100. For decades, children around the world have been shaped by the series produced by Studio 100, and today the company steps into the future, launching an innovative, new NFT membership for their fans.
To mark 25 successful years, Studio 100 has partnered with Venly and SiteManager to launch Magic Circle. By way of an NFT membership, Magic Circle will allow 250 of Studio 100’s most dedicated fans access to unique experiences, giveaways, pre-sales, discounts, and other benefits.
Let’s dive in and take a closer look at how Studio 100 is using NFTs to power the celebration of its loyal fans and usher in the next generation of customer engagement.
From Local to Global
Studio 100 launched in 1996 as a small studio producing a single Flemish television series for kids called ‘Samson en Gert’, or ‘Samson the Dog’, in English. Since then, the company has grown to become one of the largest independent family entertainment companies in the world, developing and producing entertainment across four television channels, four animation studios, and eight theme parks. While remaining on the cutting-edge through its expansion across genres, formats, and industries, Studio 100 has still remained true to its roots, producing content that is both entertaining and educational for children and parents.
To ring in their 25th anniversary, the company launched Studio 100 Magic Circle to reward their most dedicated fans. With 25 memberships already gifted, the remaining 225 are available to purchase now from magiccircle.studio100.com/ .
Magic Circle membership cards will be delivered to fans in the form of an exclusive NFT, showcasing a unique design from the artists behind the hallmark character and star of Studio 100’s founding children’s show - Samson the dog.
Why NFTs?
The decision to use NFTs is emblematic of Studio 100’s growing interest in blockchain technology. As a company that cultivates meaningful relationships with loyal fans, they understand that Web3 technology has the power to strengthen the way they approach business.
In real time, this NFT collection will digitally certify one’s ownership of the Magic Circle membership. Owning one will grant owners an access pass to exclusive sections of the Studio 100 site and Magic Circle events. By nature, NFTs also provide fans with an easy means to buy and sell on a secondary market. This will allow for the continued transfer of value through the community, in turn, extending the life of the initiative.
While the array of perks is compelling, Studio 100’s audience primarily consists of young children and parents - demographics not traditionally associated with Web3 adoption. With this in mind, Studio 100 had to ensure that the process of purchasing and using the NFT membership was as straightforward as buying a ticket for one of their shows.
From 7 to 97: An NFT Membership for All Ages
As it stands, buying an NFT is not an intuitive process for the average person. One must install a browser plugin like MetaMask, pass complex identity verifications, open a wallet, store the secret phrase key somewhere secure (but not too secure that it gets lost), pass a verification process with their bank, and purchase tokens to then finally be able to transact on the blockchain. While the Magic Circle membership benefits might be intriguing, these hurdles would make it out of reach for most fans.
Enter Venly. With an NFT solution that is as easy to use as email, Studio 100 has been able to create a minting process that is accessible to all ages and levels of expertise. Using Venly Wallets, Magic Circle members will experience a familiar registration process, requiring just an email or social media account to login. Members can use fiat currency to purchase the NFT, which is pre-minted using Venly’s NFT APIs. Venly does the rest behind the scenes, seamlessly creating a wallet and delivering the NFT membership without the member ever having to lift a finger.
For this project, Venly partnered with SiteManager to deliver an invisible, accessible Web3 experience for a Web2 audience. Furthermore, the use of NFT technology even leaves room for Studio 100 to update its offering to members over time. Looking ahead, Magic Circle’s success will open the door for Studio 100 to launch additional Web3 projects on a much larger scale.
Looking to a Future in Web3
More than ever before, production companies, media enterprises, and creatives of all types can cultivate meaningful, rewarding relationships with their fans. NFTs provide the keys to the castle of engagement, offering a world of new possibilities.
